Tap on a location to explore it in more detail.Old Maps: explore three historic maps of London – Roman London, London in around 1563 (the time of Queen Elizabeth I) and Hollars beautiful map of London in the 17th century. Panoramas: explore three historic panoramas of London as seen from south of the river Thames. Wyngaerdes panorama from 1543, Visschers panorama from 1616 and Hollars panorama from 1647.With over 400 images, more than 200 historic map images and over 100 locations, London Explorer provides a novel way to get to know this great city and its history. Future planned updates include a host of new locations and new features. Watch this space! A very interesting app, It would be nice if other cities had similar apps
I am at once impressed and also a bit anxious about this app. It is a really fascinating and beautifully constructed work, but as I was embarking on planning a mobile companion to the River Thames, I could only be envious of the content and presentation. It is a most worthwhile and great addition for anyone interested in how London has developed through time.
This app contains so much interesting information about London, in a visually appealing way. Brilliant. I'd say it's a must for every visitor and tourist.
